To say I learned a lot is an understatement; this was my first job straight out of University, and upon reflection may have been the most beneficial. From games, to interactive installations, to realtime visualisations and websites - there was so much to learn, and amazing people to learn from.

A pinnacle point of being part of the 'core Labs' crew was a trip on-tour to Revision Party in Saarbrücken: a convention where people would enter competitions, such as programming demoscenes, doing 8-bit art (my favourite) and writing tracker music. Picture this: A large dark warehouse with rows of desks, each kitted with an artillery of plug sockets and cables. At the front, a stage and screen rigged up, adorned with blazing flashing lights, lasers and displaying demoscenes - 64KB executables rendering realtime images - programmers' awe. Guests would arrive with their cargo; amigas, workstations, old-school consoles, and find a desk to plug up. The night was long, loud and wild - people would shout 'AMIGAAAaaAaa!!!' - which probably emanated from tripping over some trailing wires. Revision Party was an experience I'll never forget!
