I had the opportunity to learn how to produce drawing plans to obtain planning permission. Perhaps one of the most least-interesting posts you'll see from me... BUT I've been learning how to use Archicad to make drawing plans for an extension at my dad's house in order to obtain planning permission.
Workflow:
I travelled up north a while ago to measure up, using a Leica Distro (fancy laser pointer) to record dimensions on the app, Magiplan, which allows you to do a basic layout while reading from the leica, storing photos etc. I then drew the proportions over a scaled export image from Magiplan and drew over in Archicad, taking ideas from more simple example plans found online as well as a wish-list and advice from my dad.
A future goal would be to delve into arc-vis using my own home as an example, but not anytime soon; the to-do list is too long, mainly with illustration! ✏️
